Causes Of Yeast Infection
Vaginal yeast infection in women could cause extreme
itching, burning, irritation and heavy discharge. Common causes
of the yeast infection in women include medicines and products
which help to create a condusive environment for the growth of
yeast which is already, naturally present in the vagina. These
medicines could include antibiotics, steroids and also birth
control pills. Also products which are usually used to clean up
the vagina or other scented products could cause the
infection. These alter the vaginal environment and cause
naturally present yeast to overgrow.
Another reason for occurance of yeast infection could be
hormonal changes. These changes usually take place during
pregnancy or before the menstruation cycle. Such hormonal
changes usually donot persist for long and balance is attained
once the cycle or duration is over. But othe hormonal
imbalances could occur due to certain diseases or illnesses
which could possible go worse with time and must be
treated.
Besides this, people who have a weak immune system are more
prone to getting yeast infections. People affected with grave
diseases like AIDS, cancer, diabetese etc. have weak immune
systems due to strong medications and treatments. Due to this
their bodies are unable to resist the spread of undesirable
bacteria and growth of fungus through out the body including
sensitive organs like lungs, heart, liver and kidneys. This
growth of fungus in various areas could lead to the fatal
candidal disease. Statisticcs show that 75 percent of the
people affected with this disease do not survive for long.
Also drug addicts who use unhygenic needles to inject drugs
into their bloodstream get affected with yeast infection more
frequently. The reson for this is that yeast enters the body
through these dirty needles and causes infections in various
parts of the body. Another common reason for yeast infection in
women is tight clothing and panties. By wearing tightly fitted
clothes, you stop the air going into the vagina which is
necessary to keep the bacteria count balanced. This changes the
vaginal environment and hence causes abnormal growth of yeast.
Also it is prefferable to wear soft materials like cotton and
avoid silks and satins as they again block the access of
air.
Also the use of scented pads or certain tampons can give
birth to yeast infection. Such commercial products contain
harmful chemicals like bleach so it is highly recommended that
pure organic products be used so as to avoid the risk of yeast
infection. Besides all this, it is also possible to get yeast
infection through sexual intercourse as both men and women
could be infected with it. If your partner is suffering from
yeast infection, than there is a high possibility that you will
catch it too.
As far as yeast infection in children is concerned, use of
very tight diapers and continuously occuring diaper rashes are
a common cause. Thus it is important to keep all these causes
of yeast infection in mind and take every possilble measure to
prevent yeast infection from occurring.
